The Staff Business Plan Challenge 2010 is open to all members of staff to develop their idea for a business based on University related activity. RBI provides support provided by experienced, external business consultants to develop a robust business plan.

Research Business and Innovation (RBI) supports the commercialisation of research at Northumbria University. We work closely with academic staff to realise the true commercial value of their research.
We provide a variety of support packages through Innovation Campus to enable successful commercialisation of scientific discovery.
Innovation Campus is a unique service providing:
- Funding for innovative applied research (through the Innovation Seed Fund)
- Commercial training for academic staff
- Commercialisation support for commercial ventures and new technologies.
- Lead generation, marketing and promotion of University services (through Active Business Incubator)
