TouchScape
Dr Cassim Ladha from Newcastle University introduces Touchscape; a technology driven company supplying touch sensitive screens that go far and beyond existing technologies. It hopes to bring the science fiction seen in "007 - Quantum of Solace" and "Minority Report" to the masses.
Touch sensitive screens are already ubiquitous in the personal computing world. Touchscape's technology goes far beyond the conventional button like capabilities of screens often seen in Sat-Nav systems and mobile phones; it provides provision for multiple interactions simultaneously. This capability enables a platform for a new breed of application where collaborate interactions can be used to play games, browse media, edit documents and anything in between.
The screens will initially be embedded into a table form-factor which can be tailored in size, colour and aesthetic. This initial product will be targeted towards the hospitality industry initially but plans for a home version are already under development.
