Apparently, in London, you are never more than a few metres away from a rat. Well soon, Newcastle University students will never be more than a few metres away from a WhipBike!
Our plan is simple – lock bikes up all over university campuses for students and staff to move around quickly and easily as and when they want.
So if you're a student and you’re running late or just not in a walking mood... look out for the bright green beach cruisers and text us the bike number. We'll text back with the lock code quicker than you can say '...get a load of these new WhipBikes!’ You then have 30 minutes to complete your journey before relocking your WhipBike to any university bike rack.
The best bit is that the text message you receive back from WhipBikes also acts as your payment by charging the small fee to your mobile phone each time you rent – so no extra bills or commitments. That's it! WhipBikes are not just awesome, convenient and easy-to-use bikes but also mobile billboards that offer companies and organisations a unique and effective way of advertising smack-bang in the middle of campus.
